The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is seeking community feedback on a proposal by Northern Beaches Council to name a reserve in the locality of Warriewood as Ronda Alterator Reserve.
The unnamed reserve is located at 3 Boondah Road, Warriewood, with the proposed name seeking to commemorate Ronda Alterator OAM (31/03/1942—10/04/2024) who was a dedicated and valued member of the Narrabeen Youth Club Netball community for over 42 years.
Her roles within the club include being President for nine years, Vice President, Coach, Net Set Go Coordinator, Umpires Convenor and being a member of the grading committee. Ronda also volunteered on various Manly Warringah Netball association committees throughout her time.
Her contributions have been recognised with multiple awards. Amongst these, an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in the General Division on 26 January 2020 awarded for her ‘Service to Netball’.
